Rear brake problem

Hi, I’ve replaced the rear main brake cylinder of my 81 T140 and now find the brake pedal is lower than before, and accordingly, has a shorter stroke – I can’t get the brake fluid through. Any hints on how to set up the rear brake would be greatly appreciated.
