Keep Blowing Fuses

Keep Blowing Fuses

My 72 bon has a problem blowing fuses - the diod was blwn when I got the bike - no shorts were found - new diod - rode about 5 miles and lsot power, blown fuse - dead short. Did not find any shorts in the system replaced diod again rode another 5 miles - loss power again - blown fuse. Where do I start?
