Hello, this heat coming from the engine is really a problem at least if weather is warm. I tested the new ST with a temperature around 35°C/95°F. I didn’t notice excessive heat of the seat, but I am always wearing leather on a bike. The pillion grip is really hot at the bottom. I rode the 99 ST several times but never noticed the excess of heat, but I know some people did. I had a Daytona T595 until last February, and it was sometimes hot but never so much than with the new ST. I will also point two negative points out: The engine lost the roughness I loved with my Daytona, and even if the engine is still amazing, I miss the character of the old one. But all the new engines in any brand are becoming smoother. People can prefer that… The second thing is more problematic. The brakes are weak (at least on the one I tried) the lever has a dead course of probably 3cm and it comes against the grip without breaking that hard. That is a big problem to me. Anyway, My new silver ST arrived today in the dealership… I will have to pay attention to the brakes and maybe modify them. |
