VFR-man: as a former vfr750 (´97) I still do not understand the reputation of this bike: three times a year broken voltage stabiliser (which means total failure), boken batterie, rusty exhaust pipes/collector, trembling steer, sensitive steering bearhead (or how is it called in english), although wonderfull sound and fine character, real power only above 7000rpm, poor paint quality, specially front forklegs, only medium stability and curve speed. Altough I was always very sceptical about british manufacturing qualtity and have driven 15 different motorcycles (the 4 japanese, BMW, Ducati, Motor Guzzi, Triumph) the last 26 years, I must admit the Triumphs 955cc triples are superior in building quality and total drive sensation/character.
By the way, car manufacturer Opel used cam driven gears already in the 60´s in their Kadett. Furthermore, I consider it as not done the way you behave to other motorbike lovers, very childish and pathetic. Enjoy your vfr and let others enjoy theis favorite.
