I spoke to the head mechanic at ´Shogun Triumph´ in Queensland Australia regarding the reason Triumph uses the left hand headlight for dipped beam, and the right hand headlight for high beam. Apparently bringing them into the country like this attracts less duty, (classed as a single headlight model). He spoke to the Triumph distributor in Melbourne and they gave him a "Hella" relay part number to allow the bike to run both headlights. The part is: Hella # 3057 Diode protected, 12volt, 40/15A, changeover relay. I bought 2 relays from a local auto parts shop for $17.60 Aust. for the two. They just plug into the existing sockets below the instrument panel on the right hand side. Apparently early models may require a link to be fitted, mine didn´t. They can also be ordered from a Triumph dealer from their parts ´Fische´ as ´Headlight Relay´. Hope this has been some help. Wilko... |
