Whilst at the Bulldog Bash recently my mates Triumph Speedmaster broke big time and I wondered if any of you guys have heard of any similar issues as he is having problems with the dealer getting it sorted? He was trying to start it up and we heard an awful loud bang following by a whirring sound. Luckily the AA were on site and took a look at it, after a couple of hours of taking bits off here and there they found out that the starter motor mechanism had failed causing the crankcase and engine casings to break. The guy left the starter mechanism out and put it back together so we could bump it to enable him to ride it home. The bike is 2004 and has only 1900 miles on the clock. He has been told that parts alone to repair it are around £2,000 let alone the labour costs. As I said he is having problems getting it sorted with the dealer he bought it from so if anyone has heard of any similar problems with this model it may help his case. Thanks for reading this guys any help would be really appreciated. |
