The owners manual explains how to do this. I recall it´s one screw at the bottom of the fake air cleaner, swing it up and remove, then remove the two screws that hold on the plastic box underneath. The battery cover then pulls right out. Now to get at the positive battery terminal that´s another story. You can just about clip on to it with small clamp from the \
