It may not be the fastest bike on the planet, but it´s style makes up for that. I´ve owned mine since 1995 and I´ve never been more satisfied with a motorcycle. I´ve put over 26,000 miles on it so far. It takes me comfortably on short trips as well as long ones. Virginia to Florida is the longest straight through trip I´ve taken it on. Modifying it has been challenging, but I have managed to customize it a little. Here are some of the mods: Micron slip-ons, Dynojet jet kit, K&N air filters(4) and crankcase breather, Accel super coils, Magnecore race wires, Factory 4 degree timing advance, Gustafson tinted wind screen, 6-piston calipers, EBC brake pads and rotors, lower gear ratio, 130 db Fiamm horns, seat cowl, tank protector, carbon-fiber front fender, polished lower fork tubes, throttle meister throttle lock, Toby steering stabilizer, headlight cut-out relay, Lockhart Phillips turn signals... The worst trouble I´ve had was caused by the Accel wires that came with the ignition kit burning out. I rejetted the carbs numerous times before I found out that my ignition was missing. Magnecore solved that problem and it´s been great ever since. If you want more info on anything that I´ve done with mine, feel free to e-mail me. I know how hard it can be to locate aftermarket parts for the "old" new Triumphs.
