This bike was one of the slowest bikes I ever purchased.I am a dealer and I buy wrecked bikes and fix them.I ride them for a while, then sell them. Iliked the Daytona, but it was terribly slow.First I installed a K&N filter, no help. Then I lucked up and purchased a Indigo full exhaust system that a local Ducati dealer had off his 1200 daytona. Installed ,and no noticable help.I then decided to check the timing. Somebody installed the exhaust cam 180 degrees out of time. You would think this was the problem.Well it idled smother, but no real difference in aceleration.I then bought and installed a jet kit and adjustable timing advancer. Installed these two items at the same time.It took a few hours of fine tuning which included removal of the white prefilter in the air itakes.WOW . this bike was extremly fast now. It is no comparison to a stock bike.It would be like comparing a CBR 600 F2 to a ZX11. No bull. The jet kit gave 12 hp/ timing advancer 4hp/ pipe 10-15hp??/ Do the math 176 hp.I can run off and leave Zx11´s. I was out accelerating a 2000 zx9 and R1 from three bikes behind starting out at around 70 mph.A car in the other lane stopped me from completing the domination.I know this sounds unbelievable but I am not joking. I plan on racing them soon. I will not even think of selling it now. Very comfortable machine. Also have Storz handlebar kit on it.Cubic inchs and lots of horsepower rules! It lays rubber at will just by gasing on it. My friend with the 2001 Zx11 can´t believe it.He rode the 1200 and said it felt a lot slower than his.I agree, this bike does not feel fast. Al
