I´ve owned my ´01 Bonneville for about 18 months and have put on nearly 25k miles on her, including a 7K mile round trip coast to coast and back w/ camping gear. There isn´t a day that goes by that I´m not happy with my selection of this bike. Straight out stock they´re a good value, but not especially great performers. However, they are a great platform to customize, and getting better performance is very easy to do: Install some freer breathing mufflers and air filter, then spend less than $20 to re-jet the carburetors and the bike will generally outperform similarlly modified Sportsters, which are the Bonnie´s primary competition. Anyone seriously considering this bike should visit http://forums.delphiforums.com/New_Bonneville/start for a wealth of information about this bike. |
