Very quick off the line and agile but top-end was ´only´ 105. I never got the carb jets quite right, it always ran rich. Had reversed foot controls and shift pattern was also reversed, up for 1st from N, down for the rest. Even the electrical system was reversed, it has a positive ground. It had a battery but it wasn´t necessary, it ran off a magneto and excess current was discharged through a Zener diode. Entire drivetrain was isolated from the frame with rubber mounts so it was very smooth as long as you had the right shims in the mounts, otherwise it shook like crazy or wallowed like it had a broken frame. Repainted it and replaced bars, seat, exhaust system, horn. Put a combo road/dirt tire on the back to get through sand better (was living on the Florida coast at the time). Leaked oil like a sieve (´Oiltite´ stick worked to some extent), tank valve also leaked and gas would sometimes run into the crankcase overnight. Valve guides would go bad at 5000 miles, lots of blue smoke at idle until you replaced them. Drum brakes front and rear, worked ok unless they got wet and then they were almost useless. Had to safety-wire the pipe clamps to the cylinder head or they would unscrew themselves and things would get very loud. Very strong frame, large-diameter backbone. Chain oiler dumped out so much oil I had a stripe running up my back after any long ride (longest was NY to FL). Kickstand foot was too small and would sink into sand and hot asphalt, I had to carry a block of wood around with me or find a beer can. Bought it new, had it 6 years, never dumped it (came close a few times). Looked good (definitely was different), sounded good, and a great ride when everything was working right.
