Handle bar issue

my buddy dropped his bike (2006 R6S) and he is currently deployed for the army. The right handle bar is bent and I am trying to fix it for him. How is the handle bar replaced? I have seen a lot of clip on ones for sale but not sure how the throttle grip and other stuff are transferred from the old bar to the new one. I do NOT want to take the bike to a dealer or anything, I have plenty of time and patients so if anyone can help with the process it would be appreciatedl
