Having owned 20 odd sports bikes now and toured most of Europe Oz and a bit of US I feel I am a worthy judge of this latest Yamaha R1 2009 model. Having previously had the 2004 2007 models back to back the 2009 was next on my shopping list. Having had a test ride from a local dealers my mind was madr up. Ordered one and received it within weeks. This machine is a hybrid forget the Moto GP hype its a fantastic road bike if corners are your thing. Its a Ducati below 6 thou revs I know my ducs owned 5 now still have my 13 yr old 916 and its still a hoot!!! But this twin low down power is quite sureal if your a twin fan cause there is NO engine brake from it. Mega mid range which hurls you from corner to corner rapid. Over 10 to 14 and a bit this again is my old r1´s happy to hang in there til the limiter kicks in if that is your thing. A word used by so many journos on this machine interested me that word was \ |
