R1 my first sport bike . Bad idea?

This will be my first sport bike. Although I do own a 250cc dirt bike I know they are not the same but i do have some experience on a motorcycle, so my question is for some one who has never had a sport bike even if I am careful is this the wroung bike for me. Thanks
