Being confused??

I´ve always had Ninjas in the past and now buying a 1998 YZF 600R
Is there a difference between a YZF 600R, YZF 600 thundercat, and a YZF 600R Thundercat, and if so, how do I tell which one this is. One more question like I said it´s a 1998 YZF 600 something.... is about 3500 a good price for such a bike??
