HI there
I have 97yzf 1000 and I had the same problem at one time
In my case it was diagnostic code read out that the computer on
the bike is telling you what is wrong, just like cars have the way of
way of displaying their problem codes.
3 seconds- 0 RPM
3 seconds- 7000 rpm (fuel sensor code)
3 seconds- actual motor rpm.
In my case it was the low fuel sensor that is located inside
the tank, before you remove it check the plags for bad connection
if that doesn´t work you have to take it out and chacke the wire connections
where they were soldered to the sensor its self or you have bad fuel sensor.
in my case it was just the wire that came off from bad soldering job.
looks like the same problem to me.
good lock
