Hi Paul. I bought my yzf1000 new. It did then, and still does now, the same as what yours is doing. I did query the bike shop if it was normal for it to behave in this manner - they said yes. Ten years later, my bike still going strong - so i guess its fair to say its operating temperature characterics must be ok.
