Hi my name is Allister & i have a YAMAHA YZF 1000 R.I have had this bike scnies new & never looked back.I have put my bike throu its pacies on the track & off.TEN/TEN.Anyway your down pipes must be bad for that to happen.You can get a set to replace the ones on it.Or a 1997 they are the same.Best of luck.
