| Hi, I have a 97 250 majesty which i bought with a suspected big end failure. Pulling it down reviled a damaged piston which was scored and had jammed the rings in their grooves. New piston and re-bore with head ports opened up, valve sizes were quite good in this model. I re assembled scooter. Scooters performance is very sluggish off the mark but with very good mid range and top end. Have put needle up 1 notch and re adjusted idling mixture resulted in slightly better off the line and more power in mid range. Problem is still very slow off mark..have noticed yamaha develop torque high up in rev range and may also have auto clutch engaging early. Bike has 50K on speedo but is in very good mechanical and overall condition...How do i get this thing to get up and go off the line??? HELP |
