i have this clunk as well over bumps. also a really loud whine/whistle from the gears to the extent that it is louder than the engine, took back after first service and mechaaic rode it..reported that its normal....... i saw a post on aanother forum that mentioned both these areas. the first involved a full strip of front forks that revealed there was a cross threaded tapping and the forks needed renewal, secondly there was also a mention of the whine which said yamaha are aware of it and there is a fix available, now just need to get the mechanic to contact them over it.
one item i find dangerous is the lack of response from the throttle in slow turns like roundabouts leaving you leaning over on a dead throttle and gravity dragging you down then it picks up.i get over it by slipping the clutch evidently this also is normal.
im starting to think i should have got the suzuki
one other thing is the windscreen.....its bloody dangerous!.wrong angle to clear and is equivelent to having a sheet of plywood in front of you when street lights or head light catch you........and yes ive tried all forms of water repelent
