for the cost of a classic --approx equal to a sportster-- you get a larger fuel tank, better range, cruiser style seating,(more comfort)floorboards, reliability, and the look of a much bigger bike. the only loss to the 883 is in top speed and horsepower.If you´re going highway racing the HD is the choice. For patrol type use and cruising, as well as rider comfort go with the V star
