There is a project XV920R on the Aprillia forum (also posted in advrider.com and fz1oa.com among others). Got the XV to 1100cc and 95 HP. Modern forks, brakes, wheels, rear shock. Lost 100 lbs.
Involved machining cases to take Virago 1100 cylinders.
