I am considering buying a Yamaha XV750 1984 model. Bike is very tidy but exhaust valves are not seating and starter button is broken. I am a little worried as it has been in a shed for 6 years and the same problem with the exhaust valves existed 12 years ago when it exchanged hands. I am told that the owner had new ones fitted and reseated and now I am told that it only needs adjusting. The price is $2,000 and I think that is a little high for such an old bike. The other worry is the starter button is broken. Are these starter buttons available or can I fit another brand?? I am trying to decide between a XV750 and a XV920 which goes but the cosmetics are no good. It would need rechroming and painting. Having a friend check out the 750 tomorrow.
