Oil flow question in filter area virago 750 1989 |

I stripped the bottom bolt which holds the oil filter cover plate in place, repaired it with a timesert insert which now probably blocks the small hole at the bottom of the recess in which the oil filter cover plate fits. What is the function of the small hole in the bottom of the recess? It seems to join the oil filter area with the threads of that bottom bolt. Is there a problem blocking the flow of oil through that small hole? Also does the deepest part of that threaded area of that bottom bolt connect to the oil resevoir or did I do that when drilling and repairing the threads? A schematic of the oil flow in this area would be very valuable. Thanks Thanks |
