Does this 1983 XV750 m (Midnight special) need a battery in the bike in order for the engine to run right? In otherwords, i just recently got this bike and it had been sitting for about 10 years, so i cleaned the carbs and the fuel tank and got it to fire up, but wont idle up under throttle, is that because the ignition system has to have a battery to fire correctly so it will run right?
