Hi Guys ands Gals

I have a problem with my XV1100. When I ride in the rain after about 25 miles/ 40 km the bike developes a cough and splutter when at high revs just when you would expect the bike to excelerate, pretty dangerous when your overtaking and then all of a sudden you start to loose power and run out of overtaking lane. Any ideas on what it maybe, and wondering if anyone else has this problem. Bike has 50,000 miles/80,000km on the clock and other than the above problem runs like a dream.
