You do not have to remove the seat, there is a cover on the right side. Pull it and you´ll see the batery and you just have to pull it out, removing the negative connector first. I just had to recharge mine a couple of times. I suggest you change it overnight at 1amp charging until you reach 12.4volts on a voltmeter.

I had my first ride of the season today, still run great ...
