Hi everyone, I bought my XT 660 R on the 26th of September 2004. With the exception of the replacement under warranty of the ECU (Stop & Go problem) and rear turnlight on the right side, I have had no major problems whatsoever. A point of attention is the saddle, which has a faulty design according to my personal opinion. The saddle has a tendency of ´bending´ upwards, probably due to the design of the plastic bottom which is of inadequate quality. Just passed the 50.000 kilometer mark yesterday on highway A12 between Utrecht and the Hague in the Netherlands. At this point the motorcycle consume just 0.8 deciliters per 1000 kilometers. This is truly nothing for a thumper, and indicates the supreme quality of the ceramic cylinder and forged piston. I would never want a different bike, it has proved its surplus value during many instances. A truly fun bike that I would like to recommend to the Adventure Rider category out there! Regards, Johan |
