Hello, I purchased one last year. To be honest, I did it because of the low price (compared to other "in"-brands like BMW, KTM, MZ...) As I want to creep in a relaxed way over European roads, there was never a need of something with 200 PS and a top speed of 270 Km/h. And I did not want to spend 3 hours a weekend with cleaning and half an hour of fun. So the only choice was an enduro-type bike without any chrome parts. As I was (and still am) a beginner, I decided to try it with a XT 600 E. As I received my driving licence comparatively late, I could make only 6000 km last year, and as I am taking it slow, there were no extreme claims to the machine. However, up to now that was absolutely the right choice. I think, in this case you should not give too much on catalogue and magazine comments. They say old-fashioned, yesterday´s technology - but perhaps also time-tested? Perhaps especially if you are a beginner, some PS less and a bike a bit lower is not the worst. I took place on it in the shop, and just knew that this was mine, I simply liked it. In driving school, they gave me a new Bandit - not very pleasant. Even on this, although the position of the driver is not as extreme as e.g. on a Ninja, that was not what I want. To come to an end, I hope that our relationship will be continued as well as it began. At present, I am just longing that winter is over and the new season starts. I wish all other XT-riders a good season with a lot of sunshine, Sandra |
