So long as you pull the plugs, Both Drain and Spark I hope you had oil in the engine, If so Just Spay some Penetrating oil into the Cyl, Let it sit overnight. Thats a good time to go buy a new battery and do a once-over on the Shock seals Lighting tires. etc...etc slowly rotate the engine with the Kick starter and as long as you have rings moving with the piston, you only need to give the beast a good douche. I reccomend 2QTS of Atf type Dextron run it about an hour, then Change oil ,plug and filter...Happy ridding. ( By the way The ATF is going to smoke like it´s on the war-path, so dont be too alarmed.) I own both an81 XT-500 and an 82 Xt550. If someone tries to sell you a CDI,--Try picking up a used coil first. It´s worked 3 times for the pair of mine
