I have a 93 XT550, it starts well, idles well, it´s when the engine warms up it plays up, when I wind the throttle on up to approximateley 3/4 revs it starts missing badly and when you eventually slow down the engine will shut down, it will start again in about 30 seconds.
We have reset valve clearances, changed spark plugs, cleaned out carby, raised float level in carby so it is getting heaps of fuel,changed stator(made a difference), changed plug lead, does anybody have any ideas.
I am thinking it is electrical and am going to try a differnet CDI, I will also try the air filter after Mikes comments, all ideas will be tried.
