I have successfully installed a luggage rack that originally was on an XS 1100. The forward attachments had to be bent inward a little. I left the nice thick metal grab bar that wraps around my seat on, and the luggage rack portion of the rack rests perfectly on top of my grab bar, where I have secured it with stainless steal hose clamps. I have attached a black plastic case to the luggage rack, behind the removable sissy bar, which conveniently slides out and can be extended with smaller diameter pipes so that when I am not riding someonebody on the back, I can have a nice stable back rest for riding alone with space to throw on my old navy sea bag strapped down in front of the locking plastic case. I can send you a picture if you email me directly.
