Hello I just purchased a 1980 xs850g and When I got it the previous owner said it had electrical problems, always the optimist I bought the bike and an extra roller for parts.I got it home and managed to get it running and rode it around the block.now when I crank the motor it just turns and turns with the occasional backfire but will not fire.Also the lights stay on when the key is removed I can remedy this by unplugging the rectifier.Is the rectifier bad?.Any help would be enormously appreciated as this is my first bike and I would like to ride it this season.Thanks again and this is a great resource for me and I will gladly offer my limited knowledge on this bike to any who might need it
