Sudco refered me elsewhere for aftermarket carbs a few years ago, a guy who used to race these triples set-up a set of Mikuni VM "Round Slides" for me with the needed one into three control cable. I´d like to see pictures of your set if possible. Yamaha has sold most of the New Old Stock for triples. I got an aftermarket Mac three into one exhaust after being told "it looks like the last one on the shelf". They sound GRRREAT! and weigh less but... Unless the headers are equal length for improved flow you will get better performance with the stock header and balance "H" pipe along with a slip-on muffler (If you get Supertrap brand it will allow backpressure adjustment for best overall performance with those carbs). Rectifiers and Ignition boxes are not produced any more. Get all the info you can on proper diagnosis of that charging system and go thru it... twice. I have fixed wiring issues that had been blamed on the regulator by good meaning parts counter guys that are used to changing a part instead of testing it, as with any old bike fix any connection and or wire that has: heat damaged insulation, visable corrosion, bad wire splices and broken strands. They said my rectifier was bad too, they were wrong. Then start asking around for N.O.S. parts and last the used parts (boneyard) market. I have all the manuals if you need info. Parts diagrams and some N.O.S. parts can be found here: http://www.yamahapart.com Have fun! Erik. ASE Certified Master Technician, Electronics/Communications Tech. II |
