I have a 1977 Yamaha XS 750 with the point style ignition. And my question or questions are, why will the 1F mark on the ATU not line up with the indicator mark on the casing? I have adjusted the breaker plate to its limit and still the 1F mark will not line up, it is close but not close enough. What is happening and what can I do to correct this problem. The bike will not run at the moment it will only backfire through the exhaust and when it was running, it would also pop through the intake. As of now if anyone has an electronic ignition setup for this bike I would be more than happy to swap out the point mess. Thank you and I hope anyone can help me get this bike running.
