In answer to your question about the battery. First of all thank God for Kickstarts. I have not had to replace my regulator. All though it very well could be that. I would also suggest checking your connections. I know mine tend to want to work loose which effects the battery from sometimes charging poperly. It is a good idea to go over your fuses.
