Tony,that unit for the starter splits in half,starter button on top i would suggest looking at the old one and try to go from there.You can also consider buying a new unit.I have never repaired one of these myself.You can order any new parts for a 650 at mikesxs@aol.com or click on www650motorcycles.com and go from there.
