I´m in the beginning stages of turning my 81´xs650 into a street tracker/hooligan.I put a Mac 2 into 1 pipe on it along with KnN filters. I´ve tried different jetting settings, but I´m having a problem with the float bowls running dry. I´ve tried many adjustments with the float hights. I´ve had the hights so close to the top that they overflowed. I´ve set them back down just a bit, and they don´t over flow, but they run dry when ridding hard. The jetting changes I´ve tried have always left a bad flat spot in the 3500 to 5000 rpm range. Above 5000, it rips. Jetting that I´ve done-147.5 main,42.5 pilot,127.5 air jet,and 2.5 turns out on the air screw. This was done with the K&N filters and stock pipe. The flat spot was between 3500 and 4500 rpm. I put the Mac pipe on and rejetted again. 150 main, 50 pilot jet, and a 130 air jet. I ended with the flat spot at 3500 to 5000rpm.Any info on MAKING these work or some good after market carbs would be helpfull. I´ve found some 34´s and 36´s on ebay, but I would like some input or advice before I move ahead with a purchase. Another item I´d like to address are the wheels.19" front and 16" rear mags. I´d like to go with 18" front and rear with disc brakes.Or atleast an 18" out back. Any info on this ( handling on the steet)set-up? Thanks for your time and efforts.jimi
