My bike would rev to 4000-4500 rmps when in 1st gear or neutral, sometimes, not always. Most advise was to sync the carburetors. But the mechanic I finally took it to said the fuel screws were too tight and broke off inside the idle system. Don´t know if that was the cause for sure, but the bike hasn´t done the high rev since.
