I´m in a gray area with this one. My bike has just now developed a similar, but not as severe, problem. My lights come on but I have to use the kick-starter. Once started, everything is fine. I probably need a new battery.

Since your´s starts but then cuts out, I´d suspect the generator, part number 021000-778/AC Generator. But as I said, my knowledge in this area is limited.

I´m taking my bike to my local m/c guru soon and I´ll ask him about both problems, yours and mine. Sorry I can´t come up with a \
