I had the same problem when I first got my bike. The latches that hold the seat to the frame are probably bent, and when you pull the lever, only the right side releases. Take a long screwdriver and push the left latch forward. this will release it. If you look hard, you will be able to see this latch. Once you have the seat off, you can adjust the latches so they line up.
