Iam new to these bikes,and I like them so much I own two,1979 & 1981.It is my under standing that ther is spacer between 2nd & 3td that was installed at the factory wrong,It belongs between 1st & 2nd.It only becomes a problem on bikes that are jumped on hard in 2nd gear.If you buy a 1100 make sure it was not owned by a beat it in every gear guy.If you have one now that does not have the problem,Go a little easy on 2nd,If you have to go like hell,jump on it when you hit 3td.be carfull it will go over 100 in 3td.
