I had a misfire on my ยด79 XS1100 at high rpm which turned out to be caused by the braided wire which goes to the vacuum advance/retard unit. The wire had broken (due to years of flexing) and was causing an intermittent short. Once I replaced the wire the engine revved cleanly again. |
