While a very nice riding bike, there are a couple of items that are very difficult to get for the XJ100. One is the CDI. They had a lot of problems with solder fractures so they fail at a rate higher than average. There is a replacement from a company in New Zealand but it´s pricey. Also, the side stand switches tend to fail a lot and aren´t available. They also have the usual Yamaha fuse problems where the fuse holders break off. The last thing is that they tend to have second gear transmission problems and the gears are not available. The fix requires some self machining of the existing gear and dogs, or taking it to a pro. Hope this helps.
