I recently purchased a 1979 XS1100 that is immaculate except for one problem. 2nd gear seems to be shredded. I have seen some posts on some other forums that mention 2nd gear as being a common problem and something about a problem at the factory assembly level. Does anybody have any further insight on this (and more importantly, what I might be able to do to remedy)? Thanks.
