I´m looking at getting an 84 XJ750 Special. The bike looks alright, needs a little cleaning up and polish, tires look good, seat and brakes seem good, etc. It´s not running at the moment because the owner says the carbs are gummed up or something. He says the last time he had it out it would go for a bit then die, let it sit for a minute or so then it would start up then die again a few seconds later. Does that sound like dirty carbs to you? There´s a bike shop just a few minutes away from where the bike is, and the owner of the bike said this shop could have the carbs cleaned in about 3-4 hours. Sound right to you?
