I was following the written information from "Haynes" repair book for Yamaha XJ 750 1980-1984 and on this repair book specified the torque for the middle gear oil drain plug as 17.5 ft lbs. As per specification I applyied this and the screw broke off. I was very unhappy because of it. It cost me over $150.00 to have this broken screw removed and this should not have happened. I will have much question about the torque setting specifications from this book now on.
