my bike has never stuck gears.. but i have heard of these bikes doing that.. they are old,, and there in lies the problem. I think it is prob. a gear tooth that has broken off in the mix somewhere.. check the oil pan for parts of metal, if this is the case you will prob have more of the same to come..again im not for sure but i read about a tider in ireland or somewhere over there that had a similar problem and bought a new bike and is still working on fixing up the old maxim.. hope you have some luck and again im not for sure but sounds like thats the problem...
