I don´t profess to be an expert on m/c charging systems but I am pretty good with cars. Here are a couple of thoughts... 1) Is there a "BATT" display on the warning panel (I have a ´81 Seca 750 too..). 2) Put a voltmeter across the battery terminals while the engine is running. The voltage should be above 12.5 volts to indicate an operating charging system. Im the automotive world, 13.7 - 14.3 v is pretty normal. If voltage is good, likely the battery is bad. 3) Buy a service manual that contains charging system diagnostics. If you have some basic tools and are somewhat mechanical, you´ll find the real problem. |
