ok heres what was wrong with my 750 midnight.it was doing the same thing.look at where the throtle cable comes down from the handle.there is a round piece that stops the smaller (in diameter) and then there is the cable cover.you should have a round headed idle screw inthe middle of the carbs.it adjust all of them.if they are already set.loosen the throtlecable by the handle.turn middle idle screw shut(not realy tight)start bike and start screwing throtle cable plastic on the end of throtletill idle goes down.the start opening the idle screw.and the idle should start comeing down more.dont open it a lot mess with the one up by handle again too.make sure you lube the cable too before you put it back together to set it.it fixed mine so far.good luck man.
